Restricted Areas

Learn about restricted areas for golf cart use in Seaside and the 30A area. Stay informed and plan your route accordingly for a smooth experience.

  • Our golf carts are Low-Speed Vehicles (LSVs), meaning they are only allowed to be driven on designated roads with speed limits of 35 mph or lower. They are not permitted on roads with higher speed limits or in certain restricted areas.
  • Before operating your golf cart, please scan and refer to the QR code displayed on the front of the cart, as provided by the local Sheriff’s Department. This QR code contains important information about the local regulations, including designated roads and areas where golf carts are permitted, as well as safety guidelines to ensure compliance with local traffic laws.

Major Highways (U.S. Highway 331 & U.S. Highway 98)

U.S. Highway 331 and U.S. Highway 98, which run through the 30A area, generally have higher speed limits and heavy traffic, so golf carts are not allowed to operate on these roads for safety reasons. Golf carts can only operate on roads with speed limits of 35 mph or lower.

Public Beaches and Beach Access Points

While many areas near the beach allow golf carts, most public beach access points along 30A restrict golf carts from being driven directly onto the sand or near beach areas, especially if they're not designated for vehicle access. Golf carts can generally only be driven on paved roads or designated paths.

Seaside’s Town Center

Seaside has a very walkable, pedestrian-friendly town center with heavy foot traffic, so golf carts are generally not allowed in the main commercial areas or central streets. Golf carts may be restricted to residential streets or private parking areas within Seaside.

Public Roads with Speed Limits Over 35 mph

Golf carts are not allowed on roads with speed limits above 35 mph unless they are designated Low-Speed Vehicles (LSVs) with proper registration and insurance. These roads include parts of Highway 30A, particularly those connecting communities.

Designated Parking Areas in High-Traffic Zones

High-traffic areas, particularly around popular restaurants and shops in Seaside, Rosemary Beach, and Grayton Beach, often restrict golf cart parking. They may also restrict golf cart use during busy times to maintain pedestrian safety.

Restricted Areas for Golf Cart Rentals

We always strive to ensure that if you want a golf cart, you can get one. However, please note that some areas and neighborhoods along 30A have restrictions or do not allow golf carts. We highly recommend that you contact us directly or check with your property management or rental agency to confirm if golf carts are allowed in the areas or neighborhoods listed below. Some vacation rentals may be advertised in a broad area, but certain parts of the area may have restrictions.
